Welcome to Aspen Inc.  Thank you for visiting this website.

 My name is Deb Mejia

In the 30 years I have made art...no 2 pieces have ever been the same.

My art is unique because:

I use recycled items, work on OSB wood and use Ponderosa Pine tree slices.

this gives different textures to my pieces.  People are drawn to my pieces at art shows and actually touch my art out of curiosity what medium my art is made from.  I use wood, scrapbook paper, Mod Podge, paint and numerous different canvases.  I cut every aspen leaf out of paper by hand with scissors.

I truly enjoy selling at art shows because of the connection between the piece of art I made and the person who is drawn to it. There are stories of why a person is drawn to a certain piece, and this is why I love making art for others.

I was born and raised in Iowa.        Midwest girl..."Go Hawks!"

I graduated from University of Iowa - B.A. Studio Art / Emphasis in Design.

I met my husband while attending college, we married in 1995 and still going strong together.

God blessed us with 3 children.  Twins: Matthew and Kaylee and 20 months later...Tyler.

We relocated to Colorado in 2009 where we still reside.  We feel like everyday is a vacation waking up to the mountain views, fresh air and sunshine.

Matthew will graduate with Electrical Engineering Spring 2024 from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona.

Kaylee has been a part of Boise State University Beach Volleyball team and will graduate Spring 2024 with Psychology.

Tyler is a sophomore at Oregon State University and currently a left handed pitcher for the Beavers.

Chad and I are empty nesters.   It's a tough transition when the kids leave home...it's an adjustment...but we are happy the kids are finding their ways.

Outside of my family and my faith...Art is my life passion.

I've taught art as a Preschool Teacher, "Artist of Inspiration" classes to elementary kids, given Abrakadoodle art classes and created a class called "Art, S'mores and the Outdoors" and "Chilllin with the Chickens" when I worked in the Backcountry for Highlands Ranch, CO.

I've had booths at numerous art shows in Colorado and have sold my art at Unlisted Artisian Boutique in Colorado and Terry's Frame Shop in Iowa.  I've also done some commission pieces.  I recently did Holly Jolly Boutique art show in Castle Rock, CO which has showed me how much I really do love making art.
